Dimitar Hadzhov was born in 1978 in Sofia Bulgaria

Professional career:
Studied psychology at New Bulgarian University since 2006 and in 2014 graduated as master’s in Clinical Social Work. Since February 2007 to August 2008 worked in therapeutic community Phoenix. His main task was leading of therapeutic groups and individual counseling. Since September 2008 to February 2010 he worked as a clinical social worker in community center and sheltered housing for people with severe mental illness - Slatina, Sofia. His responsibilities were: leading of therapeutic groups, case management, individual counseling, couching in symptoms management and finding and retaining job. He has worked mainly with people with severe mental illness - schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder. Since March 2010 to October 2014 he worked as a team leader in Solidarnost Association for rehabilitation of drug addiction. His main responsibilities were: the implication of the therapeutic community model for rehabilitation of addiction to drugs, alcohol and gambling. Leading of therapeutic and encounter groups.Case management, individual counseling and therapy. Managing a team, setting goals and minting and developing relations with network organization as well as many administrative tasks.

Area of interest:

The main area of interest for Dimitar Hadzhov is the psychodynamic model of understanding the human mind and relations to others as well as psychological counseling, individual and group therapy.

Additional qualifications: 


Dimitar Hadzhov participated in a psychoanalytical group lasting 150, and has completed a course in therapeutic behavior - 40 hours. Both trainings were part of his master’s program in the Institute of Human Relation part of New Bulgarian University. In 2010 he was part of a fifteen day specialization in Italy, Modena - Centro Italiano di Solidarita (CEIS) on the topic of rehabilitation of drug addicts, the therapeutic community as a model and various interventions and services. In 2011 he took part in a fifteen day exchange program in Therapeutic Community Trempoline - Belgium focused on group therapy and team management. In 2011 he graduated in eleven day specialization from Proyecto Ombre - Granada, Spain with an emphasis on pre-treatment programs, therapeutic, support and self-help groups.
